Pangbourne is a community where the individual Pupils are encouraged to work hard towards academic success and we are proud of the results they achieve, but just as important is the development of their characters: their confidence and values, their creative and physical skills and their appreciation of who they are and what they can contribute to the world.
Our ethos
The College’s ‘Flag Values’ of: Kindness, Resilience, Initiative, Industry, Moral Courage, Selflessness and Integrity, underpin everything we do. Our aim is to develop well-rounded young people who leave us ready to make a positive contribution to wider society and their communities.
Academic
Students at Pangbourne are challenged to do the very best they can. Small class sizes ensure more one-to-one time with an empathetic and caring group of teachers. Those pupils with the ability to take their learning to the highest level are aided by a support structure which enables them to realise their ambitions.
Co-curricular
Pupils can participate in a range of activities which include the Duke of Edinburgh’s Bronze Award and Combined Cadet Forces (CCF).
We offer a huge range of sports, many of which provide opportunities to perform at a national level. They include:
• Rugby
• Hockey
• Rowing
• Cricket
• Tennis
• Netball
• Horse riding
• Athletics
• Golf
• Clay Pigeon Shooting
• Sailing
• Swimming
• Basketball
For those with a creative side, opportunities are available in Music, Drama, Art and Photography and Design Technology. The Marching Band, soul band and College choirs perform to a very high level. There are termly Drama productions and we have excellent facilities for those interested in fine arts, photography, textiles, and wood/metal work.
Our open events are an ideal opportunity for those families starting on their journey towards selecting the right senior school for their child. They include a presentation from our Headmaster, a tour of the College and plenty of opportunities to meet our community of staff, pupils and parents.
Upcoming events:
Whole College Open Morning: Saturday 18 September
Dunbar (Year 7) Open Morning: Saturday 16 October
Bursaries are awarded on the basis of financial needs of the family. To apply for a bursary, parents should first complete the College admissions process.
