Buckswood School is a British School with global outlook.
Our school’s motto is ‘we are preparing for life’ and part of our preparation is building every child’s self-confidence. We recognise that talent comes in many different forms and not just in the classroom; and so we celebrate each child’s individual milestones because what comes easy for one, is an uphill struggle for another.

Heads Welcome

A Buckswood education places the student at the centre of all that we do. Whether your child is with us for a term or their entire secondary schooling, we want to ensure that they have the opportunity to develop their talents and abilities so they leave us with a suitcase full of memories and confidence. With a broad academic curriculum and a wide range of extra-curricular pursuits across our beautiful site, there is truly ‘something for everyone’ here. Whilst academic results are important, what is more important to us is that our pupils are happy, safe and able to explore the world around them whilst studying alongside others from around the world. Our school is a traditional school in many ways – we expect good manners from all and promote respect for each other at all times; but we are also modern in outlook, recognising that we live in a global society that is increasingly interconnected and encourage our students to be independent thinkers. With this in mind, it is our job to prepare our scholars for life in this world, whilst retaining the traditional manners and values that allow them to stand out from the crowd. We would love to show you around some time so do please get in touch. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Buckswood is not about being the best, it is about being your best!

In return for the investment that parents make in sending their children to us, we offer the parents total commitment to their child’s welfare, and to their academic and social development. We want parents to feel immense pride in their child’s educational achievement but also to have complete trust and confidence in our ability. ‘Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself’ John Dewey The legend under the regal lions on Buckswood’s coat of arms reads ad Vitam Paramus – we are preparing for life and knowing that every child is different; our warm family atmosphere cultivates a safe, secure space for everyone to flourish, building confidence and resilience whilst discovering new strengths for every student to succeed. Through our 101 things to do at Buckswood program and as part of our ethos we encourage every student to be adventurous and to step out of their comfort zone, to give things a try and install in them a can-do attitude; because these are qualities needed to succeed later in life, the world is wide and they will need so much more than just academic attainment for a truly successful life.

A Buckswood education is a personal journey. Every child is different and we recognise and value talent whichever form it takes; be it on the sports field or in the science labs. Sixth form is a crucial time to balance both work and play and with a 100% university placement success rate we feel we have a good balance and a great understanding our student’s needs.

What we can offer: Academic programs: Juniors, GCSE, One Year Condensed GCSE, A Levels, IB, University Foundation Course; Intensive English Course; Arts: Art, Music, Languages, Drama. Sports: Football Academy, Rugby Academy, Horse Riding.
